Stone Wall and other structures found on way to Brown's
This wall is found just off the old Son's of Italy Road at the Y junction between the trail on the left coming up from the top of Mountain Road. This wall and two springs along with a group of Rock Piles are about 1/4 mile from Brown's.
This is from an area I began exploring 2 weeks ago. The small spring (one of two) is located near one of the ends of the wall which runs about 150 feet. I including a shot of two cairns. I will be including more photo's from the area in the next couple of days.
This is a stone covered spring with a stone capstone. The entry into the spring is too small for farm livestock with the exception of dogs and chickens. A farm explanation can safely be ruled out for this feature. The overall design of this feature is quite similar Native American niches. The stone cairns located nearby add weight to a Native American interpretation for this structure.
