Browns Farm - Wall 2 - Connect to Mound - Possible Hollow Area - Possible Prayer Seat

Spent the most of the day tramping around Browns. You couldn't ask for a better day. The perfect weather. Found a couple more interesting things. Todays pictures are of a second of three walls that seem to have a possible intentional hollows. This next shot shows the end of Wall 1 with a break and heading to Wall 2.

This shows the beginning of Wall 2 - it's low and wide - more like a long mound than a proper kind of wall.

Some looks like field clearing  - but a lot of it doesn't.

See what I mean - this is more rock mound like - with tighter consturction.

This may be kind of hard to make out - it was tough to shoot. Here is a hollow - sunken like area in the wall.

This is yet another mound on the backside of the mound shown in the photo above - this is what I found.

With  even an old bottle behind it.

Browns Farm - Wall 1 with a Possible Hollow

Hollows in walls seem to be a theme with me lately. I keep bumping into them. These pictures are from one wall out of two walls that run a couple of hundred feet up a hillside. Both sets of walls have a hollow at the end of them.

This starts off low to the ground before building up to 3 to 4 feet high - which could be field clearing or even boundary marking - but having said this there are sections that are very well constructed and have an Indian look.

This is where it begins to have a well constructed look. Almost like different people built it at different times.

This section begins to have more of a rock mound look as it begins to get wider - note one of many earthen mounds in the background.

This section is at least 4 to 5 feet wide.

This is at one of the ends at it features a hollow. Could be from an old tree long gone or could be intentional. You can see the second wall a couple of feet behind this.

This shows the end of the first wall. Almost looks to me at least like this wall could represent serpert with its head turned.

In conclusion - this wall reminds me a snake with the head at one end - could the mounds represent a meal maybe as the wall proceeds to thin it self out to a tail kinda look. Ran across what's left of this old house.

Browns Farm - 2 More Large Rockpiles/Mounds Found - Lower Yoder Township

Found these new mounds around the old cemetery area. This first one might be kind of hard to make out since it kind of blends in with the background. It's a conical type. I have to go back and get some better shots.

This is a closeup of the rock makeup.

This next large mound is only a couple of feet away. It looks exactly like this rock mound a couple of hundred feet away.

I have been breaking down my searches into grids - since the area is over 800 acres. It goes from relatively flat to hillside back to flat again. I couldn't even tell you how many mounds of earth and rock there are, since they are everywhere, the upper and lower sections, some even look like they could represent serperts. Some I can attribute to possibly logging and bulldozing but others, it looks like I dropped into the Ohio Valley.

Also ran across my first snake of the season. Which means they're out already because of all these warm temperatures. Heck, when I was searching saturday, it was 83 degrees (broke weather records) and a full 40 degrees warmer than the week before.

Prayer Seat, Vision Quest, Animal Pen or Nothing in Between?

Found this structure yesterday just of the Mountain Road in Lower Yoder and I don't quite know what to make of it. It's large - at least 5 feet wide and about 3 to 4 feet high  - the parts of it that aren't damaged.

Near Browns Farm - Part 3 - Wall 2 - Long Wall - With Hollow Sections

As you will see, sections of this wall has a lot of damage and two hollow sections. To add this this, the wall appears at least to me to have been built by more than one person, since it has different styles. But saying this, it could just be because some of it is hard to see underneath all the fallen trees and branches.

This wall is a couple of hundred feet long.

This next section has a hollow.

This is another section with a hollow that also has a rock on rock.
